Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) Gas Users Group, under their Chairman, Micheal Ola Adebayo, has decried the national gas price for the take-off today that stands at $7.45 for a standard square metre, and is asking for the price to go below $3 or at most $3, but experts says an attempt to fix gas price would stifle the free market mechanism, resulting in scarcity, erosion of profits and untold hardship in the economy. The Ag. National Petroleum Authority (NPA) CEO, Hassan Tampuli, has issued out a statement that will disallow gas refill at LPG outlets citing ‘explosion’ as the reason for this development, but the LPG Marketing Companies Association of Ghana, Ghana LPG operators Association (GLiPGOA), Ghana LPG Tanker Owners Association and Ghana LPG Table Drivers Union are challenging this decision.
