Over the next week, the government of India is set to increase the price of gas to the highest level it has been over the last two years. This is following a pricing custom where natural gas prices are set every six months based on average rates from gas-surplus nations like US, Russia and Canada. Gazprom is not satisfied with Court’s ruling
Gazprom has filed an appeal with the Svea Court of Appeal in Sweden over its ruling in the arbitration with Ukraine’s Naftogaz regarding gas supplies. Gazprom is to pay Naftogaz $2.56 billion as compensation for the volumes of gas that ahd not been delivered by Gazprom on February 28. LNG surge set to break another record
LNG imports grew by an incredible 7.2% last month, however thanks to heavy demand from Asian countries particularly China, the latest forecast from Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF) indicates that demand will reach 305 million tonnes per year, up from 285 million tpy in 2017. Malaysia: Mubadala unit reaches Final Investment Decision
The Pegaga gas field project is set to proceed to the construction and installation stage as the major stakeholders – Mubadala Petroleum, Petronas Carigali and Sarawak SheellBerhad have reached the final investment decision over the project. The investment is expected to exceed $1 billion towards the development of the field with first gas expected by the third quarter of 2021. Canadians want the massive Canada LNG project implemented
There seems to be no more obstacle to the Canada LNG project from getting the FID from major investors. Chief executive of LNG Canada, Andy Calitz, said during an interview at Shell that “Apart from this relentless, Olympic-style competition to the last moment of getting costs down, down, down, there is not a single other major stumbling block to getting this project to FID”.
